NORMS

Bonfires must be at a safe distance from vehicles, urban furniture, trees, buildings, electrical installations, etc. to prevent any damage or improper spread. In cases where the ground is paved, it must be adequately protected with a layer of sand or any other material that prevents deterioration.

In unpaved plots, a general clearing of the area (dry vegetation and cleaning, mainly) will be carried out beforehand, and a 15-meter radius zone around the bonfire will be maintained. Only wood, cardboard, and paper will be used as combustible material. The use of combustible products that emit smoke and toxic or polluting gases (tires, rubber, plastics, solvents, chemicals, etc.) will be avoided.

Organizers will contact the Firefighters or Civil Protection personnel present before lighting the bonfire and will strictly follow their instructions throughout the entire bonfire process. Bonfires will be constantly monitored while they are lit.

Responsible individuals will have an operational mobile phone so that, if necessary, they can call the emergency number 112 if there is no Firefighter or Civil Protection team nearby.

After the bonfire, before leaving the area, any active remnants will be completely extinguished, and the absence of embers or smoldering coals that could cause reignition will be verified.

Additionally, the City Council of Logroño warns that, for any unforeseen event or need, the relevant contact numbers are: SOS Rioja (112); Logroño Firefighters (941 22 55 99); Local Police (092); and Logroño City Council (010).
