The City Council of Logroño, in its session this Wednesday in the Local Government Board, has approved, on an initial basis, the first modification of the urbanization project of the execution unit N-14.1 ‘Carrocerías Ugarte’, located in the Varea neighborhood.
A modification that, as stated by the spokesperson of the municipal government team, Celia Sanz, means that «a project that was not executed, which had been paralyzed since 2013, is being reactivated.»
The project, she recalled, was drafted and presented by the company DH Proyectos de Ingeniería, S.L.P. on behalf of the urban developer Samaniego Gestión de Viviendas, S.L.
In this way, Sanz added, «the project has now been adapted to new needs, eliminating a road to create a new roundabout.»
The next step will be to submit this project to public information for a period of 20 days, through the Official Gazette of La Rioja and a local newspaper.
«What this will mean more or less immediately is that the whole area will be reactivated. All of this will lead to the reurbanization of the area, a plan in which this City Council wants to continue investing,» explained the spokesperson, to have different plots for the development of something that we have pointed out on many occasions is an essential element, which is housing.
GREEN AREA IMPROVEMENTS.
Likewise, the Local Government Board has validated the actions carried out by the company Eulen, S.A. for a total amount of 89,113.58 euros (VAT included) at no cost to the City Council.
On the one hand, an amount of 49,041.98 euros (VAT included) has been validated for the improvement of various green areas in the city, such as the improvement of paths in La Grajera or municipal orchards, drinking fountains, fencing of dog recreation areas, or various repairs and maintenance work.
On the other hand, an amount of 40,071.60 euros (VAT included) has been validated for the supply of shrubs for different spaces or various repair and maintenance work carried out.
NEW EQUIPMENT FOR THE CCR.
Similarly, the tender process for the acquisition of various equipment for the Rioja Culture Center, including sound equipment and various elements for conference and training rooms, furniture, and utensils has been approved.
For this purpose, a budget of 47,843.40 euros (VAT included) has been approved.
SOCIAL EMERGENCY AID.
This Wednesday, the Local Government Board approved the granting of 214 new ordinary social emergency aids totaling 100,082.91 euros.
These aids are intended to support people in vulnerable situations to cover basic expenses related to primary needs such as personal care or family finances, with needs arising from maintenance, the purchase of educational materials, or school meal expenses.
CONTINUOUS TRAINING FOR MUNICIPAL STAFF.
Finally, Celia Sanz recalled that the City Council of Logroño and the Government of La Rioja signed a four-year collaboration agreement in 2021 for the continuous training of the civil servants of both administrations, whose services support public administrative action.
This agreement establishes the organization, participation, or joint collaboration in courses, seminars, professional itineraries, and other similar training and/or awareness activities.
In this way, the civil servants of the City Council of Logroño and the Government of La Rioja can access the educational initiatives of the annual training plans of both institutions.
In addition to the mutual collaboration for the provision of speakers and, where applicable, facilities belonging to both institutions for the delivery of their respective training activities, where the Rioja School of Public Administration of the Government of La Rioja plays a prominent role.
To continue developing these types of actions, the Local Government Board has approved their continuity for another four years, as outlined in the bases of the agreement itself.
