Accuses Sánchez of being «a liar without borders. He lies internally but also to European institutions»
The general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, criticized this Sunday in Logroño «the internal weakness» that reigns in the Council of Ministers in the face of a Defense Plan presented by Sánchez that many «do not support.»
«The president has presented a Defense Plan that would in no way be that of the Government because we have seen that there are people who do not support it. But, in addition, he is unable to say what he is going to increase or decrease, what he wants to do without a budget or without going through Parliament for approval by anyone or anything.»
Furthermore, Gamarra indicates, «it shows that Sánchez lied to the Spaniards» since «when the Secretary General of NATO said that the Government of Spain had committed to increasing defense spending to 2 percent of GDP before the summer, this was denied by the government itself.»
It is clear -according to Gamarra- that «the President of the Government is a liar without borders because he not only lies to us internally but also lies by attacking European institutions.»
A GOVERNMENT «IN FLAMES AND IN LIMBO»
Gamarra made these statements at the PP headquarters in Logroño where she gave an overview of the weekly political news. A week in which, as she said, «once again it is evident that we are in a government in flames and in limbo.»
In flames -she explains- «due to the internal division and weakness shown by the lack of parliamentary support and the absence of the progressive majority» and in limbo «because it is a Government that is always pending the judicial agenda due to the corruption that corner both his party, his Government, and his closest circle» even though they try to «evade responsibility.»
PPE CONGRESS IN VALENCIA AND AID TO DANA
Against all this, she indicated, «there is another alternative and another way of doing politics. The politics that really solve the problems of the Spaniards, such as the PP’s politics. A People’s Party that, as she remembered, «will have a very important meeting in the Valencian Community next week with the celebration of the European People’s Party (PPE) Congress.
Regarding this event and asked by journalists, the general secretary of the PP asked the Sánchez Government to «stop turning its back on the Valencians.»
The general secretary acknowledged that, at this moment, «the priority in the Valencian community is the reconstruction led solely by the Generalitat with the president at the helm.»
Therefore, «we again demand that the Government of Spain not turn its back on the Valencians and support the reconstruction with funds, aid, and the necessary agility for the Valencians to return to normality as soon as possible,» she concludes.
