Detenido en Logroño por robar una mochila con cupones y más de 1.100 euros.

The same person had allegedly stolen an electric scooter in the month of April from a bike rack at a shopping center in the city. Agents from the National Police of the Superior Police Headquarters of La Rioja have arrested a man in Logroño for violently robbing a backpack from a ONCE worker. As explained by police sources in a note, the robbery was carried out by the method of a "snatch" while the victim was waiting for the bus and from behind. This same person, they add, had also been responsible for the theft of a locked electric scooter from a bike rack at a shopping center in Logroño in April.

The National Police details that the alleged perpetrator, riding an electric scooter, approached from behind a ONCE worker who was waiting for the bus, grabbed the backpack he was carrying in his hand, and with a strong tug, stole it, causing the victim to fall to the ground due to the pull, resulting in minor injuries. In the backpack, there were numerous ONCE tickets and 1,173 euros in cash, among other items. After the robbery, the alleged perpetrator left the scene on the scooter. Shortly after, he abandoned the backpack in a garbage container with numerous ONCE coupons for draws on different days, before taking the cash.

The collaboration of the citizens, highlighted by police sources, has been crucial in solving this case, providing relevant information to the National Police investigation team, which led to the location and arrest of the perpetrator.

Scooter Theft

Additionally, in April, the same person had stolen an electric scooter from a shopping center in Logroño, which was parked and locked in a bike rack. The investigation team, after conducting inquiries to clarify the situation, identified him as the alleged perpetrator of this theft as well. The ‘modus operandi’ used by the alleged perpetrator for the scooter theft involved driving to the shopping center on a scooter, parking it in the bike rack next to another one, bending down to lock it. At that moment, he took advantage of manipulating the lock of the scooter next to it, then left with his own scooter, only to return later to steal the previously manipulated scooter.

The alleged perpetrator, a man in his thirties, is charged with robbery with violence and theft.
